SO and I bought Emerson Acres in April of 2006. It’s a ranch house with 3 beds and 2.5 baths on 10 acres of land. This is the second house I’ve bought, our first house was in newly developed subdivision with 5 bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. We quickly realized that the house was way too big for us and the 1/2 acre plot was too small. (When you don’t have kids to brag about, you boast about your house instead.)

SO fell in love with this house the first time we saw it, and eventually so did I. Living in the country is a nice change of pace. The subdivision house sold quickly so I was out of the sticky two mortgages situation within a couple of months. Now we spent a lot of our time planning gardens and orchards and finding ways to improve the house.
