Got My New Car! And My PE!
August 10th, 2007
I went to get my car new today. The feeling hasn’t settled in yet, and I think I must be the dullest person to sell cars to… It definitely feels different to have a new car in the garage though. Every time I open the door, it’s like “Wow! Where did YOU come from!”
My PE certification also came in the mail today. Now I can officially put those two letters behind my name on the resume.
Rondi, Katina, and I had our girls night out (in) today. So the guys (SO, Glenard, Logan, and Jason) got together themselves. We had a great time. Rondi was making dolls and she’s really good at it, Katina was doing scrapbooking, and I was trying to figure out which were the easiest rows in my cross stitch. It turned out that the guys went to Wings Etc. where Jason had too much food
They had a really good time too!
Another exciting day tomorrow. I’m going to LensCrafter to get my new glasses. I bump my head on Glenard’s car earlier this week. When I went to LensCrafter to get my glasses adjusted, they came back all foggy. It turned out that because I’ve been using Windex on my glasses (which apparently is a HUGE no-no), when they heat the frame to make the adjustments, the coating on the glasses fell apart and my glasses is now ruined… They decided to give me free lens, which is good because lens cost about $400. I also had to pick out a new frame, since my frame has been held up by super glue. Now that I think about it, I really should have given this process more thoughts. This (being offered glasses for free) is one of those once in a life time chances. I should have gathered all the girl friends I have and dragged them to the mall to help me pick out a frame… oh well, maybe next time.
Jason’s not a big fan of wearing pants
August 9th, 2007
I have so many scheduled meetings today and SO dropped off and picked up Jason instead. SO said that Jason complained constantly about his pants, anywhere from too loose to not comfortable enough… kids… I specifically asked him at the mall if he liked it… *sigh*
The house looks pretty clean since we’re having craft night tomorrow. Tomorrow really isn’t the best day since I’ve also scheduled to pick up my new car from the dealership. Busy busy busy…
hm… random thought: I’d kill for a cup of chai right now.
New Homework for Jason
August 7th, 2007
Jason started his calligraphy assignment today. I told him that his characters are so ugly, our ancestors cry in their graves over how the 5000 year tradition is being sabotaged. He got a giggle out of that.
I also took him shopping today. He needed a pair of long pants for riding, and we got some socks too. I hope he won’t grow out of the jeans too fast.
Riding Camp
August 7th, 2007
Monday was the first day of Jason’s riding camp, and it was HORRIBLE. Not for Jason, I think he had a good time, but for me… The camp is 4 hours per day, from 10AM till 2PM. There couldn’t be a worse time. I got coached twice today, once because I had to leave work in the middle of the day to send Jason to camp.
My schedule this week is JAMMED PACKED. Glenard, Rondi, SO, and I all have training tomorrow. I lost the rock-scissors-paper to SO, so I’m taking Jason to Katina’s in the morning, which greatly jeopardizes my chance of getting to training on time. I need to take Jason to buy a pair of long pants for riding, which means listening to hours of whining because he rather be at home or at Katina’s. On Wednesday I have an hour brief because somebody thought Amiya and I are horrible Runners (which would be an amazing accomplishment actually), then I have the SWE EC meeting. Thursday is craft night with Melissa, Rondi, and Katina, so I have to clean the house before then. Friday’s SWE’s ice cream social.
(The schedule continues…) Next Monday I get another Runner brief before the evaluated exercise on Tuesday. I *think* then I’ll get some peace… Can’t be sure…
I’m Dreading Monday…
August 5th, 2007
I’ve had a decent weekend… lots of coughing, some relaxation… but I’m starting to dread Mondays…
All the things I have to do just flood my mind: the August safety meeting, Jason’s riding camp, responding to TRB questions, rescheduling, getting all stakeholders signatures, managing P3, contacting Glenda about that damn well… not to mention all the back log ICPs I must have by now…
It makes me sick just thinking about it.
I was thinking today that work (or at least where I work) is just not fair. A lot of my coworkers are almost double my age, many even worked at a nuke plant longer than I’ve lived my whole life. And to put me in the midst of everyone and expect me to out perform them is just crazy! It’s like asking a middle school kid to take a class in diff eq. I feel that I’ve been set up to fail and it’s quite a miserable feeling.

Jason and I Went to the Beach Today
August 4th, 2007
I took Jason to Weko Beach today, off of Lake Michigan. As much as he likes swimming, I can’t seem to get him to do anything but float around for a while… We had a good time though, collecting rocks for the aquarium. I’ll post the pictures later.
I’m so tired… so so tired… I thought I just lacked sleep. Then I thought I just lacked food… It’s neither and I’m exhausted. Totally, utterly exhausted. I don’t think I had recovered from the cold yet, but I can’t just take a day off either. Weekends are just as busy as weekdays and I feel that I would faint if I stand up too long.
So… How did TRB go?
August 2nd, 2007
Kim told me later that it went well… and it probably did, but I still felt like shit afterwards.
What happened was that I scheduled the TRB in a hurry and since this was my first time, I didn’t get the right form. After the whole meeting’s closing, I was told I got set up for not answering the questions in the written format…
New on Fish Tank!
August 2nd, 2007
Here it is! The latest fish tank picture!
Jason and I went to buy more fish today. We’ve already got some last time, so now we have 8 fish total. Jason’s been getting guppies, I got a few glofish (red and yellow). I think we’ll get another few fish in a couple of days. I also bought a piece of drift wood, now the tank looks nicer
Daily Stuff
August 2nd, 2007
SO puts Jason to bed a lot more often now. Many days I have to run back to the office after dinner and don’t make it back home till really late.
I’m starting to feel really tired in the afternoon. After picking up Jason from school, I’m usually so exhausted that I’d fall asleep as soon as I lie down on the bed.
It’s probably because of the mod. It was due this Friday, but we moved the due date because everyone’s so busy and I’ve got the test review board tomorrow. I still need to try to get it done early next week, before Jay comes back from vacation. It’s really frustrating because I had a really good schedule made… I could have met the old due date if it wasn’t for the TRB. Now I’m getting super nervous, I’ve worked up all my team mates, and I wasted all my time for people who may not even be able to spell IT. I couldn’t finish incorporating the reviewer’s comments, which in terms lead to delaying the 3rd party review. My 3rd party reviewer is going on vacation next week so I’ll have to produce another EPR out of thin air. I’m still working on the risk analysis, which IMO is the dumbest thing and adds no value to the mod package, and I’m scared to tell Kim that he’ll need to review it cause Jay’s gone. Kim’s already doing the 50.59 prep, helped me with the TRB prep, reviewed my mod package (informally), and mentor me through yet another mod… It’s going to be so hard to ask him to review the risk analysis as well…
What I need is a real vacation. One that’s far far away and very relaxing (preferably after the mod’s approved).
