I Love BCC
June 30th, 2007
I really love that midnight program.
A couple days ago, there was a caller asking one of the DJs if he keeps a
. I’ve heard the words before, many times, but I suddenly realized that translates to “blog”. The mention of blogs led the DJs to compare them unfavorably to diaries elementary school teachers always encourage students to keep… eventually those diaries turn into weekly journals and then to monthly notes and eventually to annual New Year resolutions.
I also get the latest news of the US from the Taiwanese radio station. For example, I learned today that the US government decided to take the saying “make love, not war” to heart and had created a “love bomb” that will make soldiers want to jump their comrades. Also, out of the 300 candidates registered for the upcoming presidential election, there’s a certain individual who claims to be a vampire descended from Count Dracula. The same vampire candidate has also ran for the governor of Minnesota last year.
I really want to know where they get these news from, cause I need to get that subscription.
Weird…

I swear one of my posts didn’t come up… How odd…
Back from Acadia!
June 27th, 2007
Whew! That was FUN!
SO and I went to Acadia National Park for 5 days. Just got back this evening, so I’m sorting mail, paying bills, and charging all electronic toys.
That was a really great trip. I really want to go back again and walk all the trails, maybe kidnap a horse to walk the Carriage Road.
Anyway, I uploaded the pictures so you can see the view from Acadia’s mountains. I’ll write a journal entry on the trip as soon as I get my post cards back!
New WordPress Version
June 25th, 2007
I’m in Acadia, and I’m hooked onto a computer. There’s this computer in the lobby and I’ve never seen anyone using it. We’ve been here for 3 days and I’ve been real good at keeping away, but now that I’ve logged on, it’s hard to go back…
My friendly Bluehost automatic message reminded me that WordPress has came out with a new version. I was on the verge of click “upgrade” when I started reading the fine print. Afterwards, I went to wordpress.org and found that there’re all these steps that I need to take! Gosh, this is going to take forever!!

Very Very Tired…
June 20th, 2007
This week’s exhausting!
I’m trying to prepare for the short vacation, Friday through Tuesday, but it feels like I???m going away for a month. There are so many things happening. Not that I’m not on top of my game, I did a look-ahead two weeks ago, it’s just that new tasks keep coming in and old tasks expanded.
Sometimes when your job scope increases, you kinda sorta have a feeling that maybe somehow you’re putting in more hours. Then there are other times, like right now, where the stress is causing daily temper tantrums.
Even after hours away from work, I still can’t relax. Today I’m plagued by this headache that started when I was filling out my PE application and recommendations. (Seriously, non editable PDF files are just lazy.) Then I worked myself up by worrying about my choice of verifying references. My supervisor gets one, of course, and so does Glenard and SO. Mammo gets one, being friend + supervisor + PE licensee, and I gave the last one to Kim. Kim was an easy choice, he’s PE licensed, we work a lot together, he’s a Principal Engineer, and, most importantly, he was the one who encouraged me to take the PE exam. But I have three unofficial mentors… what about the other two. And how about Walt, who’s also a Principal Engineer I work with a lot. Then there’s that certain individual (I’m sure he’s pounding nails in a voodoo doll with my name on it right now…)
When I talked to Jennifer, she assured me that my fears are unfounded. Nobody really wants all that extra work. As for the voodoo doll??? we???ll see if Advil will do the trick.

2006 Christmas Plate
June 9th, 2007
HA HA HA! The power of procrastination! I’m finally done with the 2006 Christmas Plate!
Gosh, that probably did take 6 months… goodness…
The people’s eyes look a bit funny, but I think it looks okay overall. I’m going to get it framed tomorrow.
Training Tomorrow
June 7th, 2007
Training days are like… execution days. If you’re late, then you get to be hanged and quartered. If you’re early, you may have a chance of just be beheaded, but most likely you’ll get burned alive anyway.
I thought I was done with e-mag forever when I graduated, but I was wrong… Two whole days of EMI RFI training. Happy happy, joy joy.
On the bright side, at least is not in-house training, which is like giving birth while being burned at the stake.
