Why do these things bother me?
March 8th, 2008
Our group got a new hire, a little older than I am but has never worked at a nuke plant before.
So on Friday afternoon, Jay told him to tag along while I work on Doug’s ECC (since Doug’s still out). It turned out that Jay wants the ECC done before Monday, which is fine since it’s practically done and I have no problem finishing it up over the weekend. So I told this guy that he can stay home on the weekend and I’ll just talk to him about what I did on Monday.
Here’s what he said to me, “that’s fine with me, I think you’re just suppose to show me how things are done.”
WHAT!?!?!? I’m SUPPOSE to do something for you!?!?!?!?! You just got hired! I’m not SUPPOSE to do anything FOR you! You’re a burden to me! It’ll take me an hour to organize a way to explain the complexity of a nuke mod to you, and another hour for you to realize you’re not going to understand it! I’m so furious that I’m still steaming right now.
SO said that I have inferiority complex and I don’t disagree. I think people trample over me so many times, and the idea of a newbie doing that (or even THINKING about doing that) just makes me go berserk.
