Third week into the outage and the projection is 4 more weeks to go. Jay has finally increased my hours and I have been identified as the main DCS I&C in-house person on day shift (yes, my excellence comes with many clarifications.) Good for me.
I’ve been thinking… I still keep in touch with some of the people I went to college with. All of them have good engineering jobs now and all of the jobs offers some sort of perks:
* CW, who works for Google, told me that the company hires a gourmet chef to provide employees free breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Google also provide transportation to the office for those who lives in SF.
* DP, who works for IBM, is making a killing for an intern.
* CW, who works for Amazon, is a supervisor, according to DP.
* JD, who works for Intel, actually gets compensated for overtime.
Sounds like it’s time to change jobs.
